Hi! I'm Angelica. I've always called myself a cittadina del mondo—a citizen of the world. From Italy to Scotland to Spain, I learned that language lives in conversation, not classrooms.
I started teaching English to prove that learning a language doesn't have to be frustrating. Especially because I was once told I wasn't portata—that languages weren't my gift.
I proved them wrong by doing exactly what Oponion is built on: having fun, speaking freely, and having meaningful conversations.
That's how Oponion was born...
The Genesis of Oponion
From Shy to Speaker
The idea for Oponion came to me after years of teaching, where I heard the exact same phrase from nearly every student: "I understand everything, but I just can't speak."
I wanted to give language learning a deeper meaning. I set out to create a genuine, innovative experience modeled after how I actually learned languages myself—and how children do naturally: by having fun and SPEAKING. I merged this methodology with two of my absolute favorite things: deep, intentional conversations and board games.
Growing up, I was always labeled as the "shy kid." But in reality, I didn't lack confidence—I just needed the right space to find my voice. Here at Oponion, our mission is to help you find yours.
Why the 50-Minute Game?
Time is our most precious asset, and 50 minutes is the "sweet spot" for true transformation. It is long enough to spark fascinating conversations and absorb new vocabulary, yet tight enough to demand full presence and intentionality.
By designing this experience as a game, we lower the stakes for making grammar mistakes and raise them for building genuine connections. Our wish is that every participant leaves the circle feeling a little more vulnerable, a little more understood, and deeply connected to the power of their own voice—all while walking away with a richer vocabulary and greater fluency.

I'm not only a teacher, but also a writer. Having published a novel, with a new one on the way, my deep love and research for words are poured into the game's curated questions.
